About Me
I love inspiring people towards better health! Every day I wake to go to work as a Naturopathic Doctor and I bask in gratitude for this wonderful profession that I have found myself in.
Each person I see comes in with their unique story and I am honored with the opportunity to join their journey towards health.
I believe the true art of medicine to be a patient-centered process and I believe that each individual I work with is the true healer, and my role is to simply act as a coach to help guide this process.
I do our best to practice the principles of holistic living that I teach: getting plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and exercise; resting, laughing and playing; eating clean, whole and nourishing foods, while still appreciating and enjoying balance in life and not being overly rigorous or absolute in my approach to diet and lifestyle.
I am blessed to have two incredible children: daughter Madelyn, and son Shea, and I love teaching them the principles of simple clean living, natural health, nutrition, and the practices of spirituality and gratitude that I believe in and strive to live.
My personal story
I had always known that I wanted to work in a health related profession, During my undergrad, I decided against a conventional medical program, largely because it did not seem to fit with my beliefs or health paradigm. I had had my own health issues in my life, and the answer that conventional medicine would give me never left me satisfied, and typically resulted in a prescription of some sort. I came under the care of a Naturopathic Doctor for my health concerns and her gentle manner and holistic approach to my treatment resonated strongly with my own idea of health.
My journey towards my profession as a Naturopathic Doctor was solidified in Penticton, B.C. with an “AHA! moment" during the summer of 1999. I was camping with friends for the weekend. We were outside in the fresh air: active, running and biking and hiking over the weekend – fueling ourselves with healthy nourishing foods and enjoying each others’ company. One day, while swimming in Skaha lake, with the sun on my face, feeling strong and healthy, I can distinctly remember thinking:
“If I were to be like Jacqui [my Naturopathic Doctor at the time, in Calgary] – I too could help others feel this healthy and well!”
It was in that moment that I decided to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine. Once I returned to my desk on Monday morning, the first thing I did was begin the application process. One year later, September of 2000, I was beginning my studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, Ontario.
Listen to a summary of my own journey to Naturopathic Medicine and how this has influenced my practice style and has inspired me to create many of the various course offerings on mind-body-soul health. By way of background the creation of this audio was part of a challenge offered to me back in 2015 during a mentorship group I was part of, and led to the creation of my Soulful Healing classes.
Sit back, relax, listen and I hope you enjoy!

My Education and Training
I completed my under-graduate degree (Bachelor of Science) at the University of Calgary in 1998. With a special interest in health care, nutrition, and physical fitness, I was motivated by these interests to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, in Toronto, Ontario. This internationally accredited program is only one of two of its kind in Canada, and one of seven in North America. The program requires four years of full-time study, with one full year of clinical training under the supervision of registered Naturopathic Doctors. For more information on my school alma matter, please visit www.ccnm.edu.
Upon completion of this program, I wrote my international and provincial naturopathic medical licensure examinations, an intense week-long process! and successfully registered as a licensed naturopathic doctor in the provinces of Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
In the fall of 2004 I chose Saskatchewan to be my home once again and returned to Regina to begin practice as a full-time Naturopathic Doctor in January 2005. I am currently practicing at the Cathedral Centre for Wellness at 2146 Robinson Street in the beautiful Cathedral area of Regina.
